This client was an early adopter of PV had installed a PV system back in 2011, when the feed-in-tariff was very generous. We were contacted by the client to assess a fall off in output from the system and soon realised that some the old solar panels were suffering from delamination and allowing moisture to enter the cell area. It was decided to replace all the modules with new ones, and also upgrade the13 year old inverters. We installed 183 Longi 435 Watt panels onto a new K2 Mini Rail frame system. We removed the 5 no.SMA inverters and replaced them with a single 70kW Growatt Inverter. The client was very pleased as he was able to continue receiving his FiT with increased output. The new system is expected to pay for itself within 1-2 years and then continue to give increased output for the remainder of the FiT period.
